About Paula Aigner

Born and raised in Blair County, Paula Aigner has served as a Magisterial District Judge since 2004.

As a Magisterial District Judge, Paula Aigner has gained a reputation as a tough but fair judge. She has routinely set high bail for some of Blair County’s most hardened criminals, including child predators, drug dealers, rapists, armed robbers, and murderers. Paula has been involved with several Blair County court-related committees, including the inaugural Truancy Court Program and the Stepping Up Initiative to address the number of people with mental illness in our jails.

Prior to becoming a Magisterial District Judge, Paula was a Blair County Assistant District Attorney and was in private practice as a general practitioner concentrating in family law.

Paula has served numerous community organizations across Blair County. She currently serves on the Finance Committee for St. Michael the Archangel in Hollidaysburg, the steering committee for the Red Mass/Law Day Committee at St. Francis University, and the board of Blair Concert Chorale. She formerly served on the Board of Directors for St. Leonard’s Home, the Board of Blair County Crime Solvers, and as President of the Blair County Legal Services.

Paula Aigner, the second oldest of eight children, was born in Altoona to Dr. Francis and Eileen (Sheedy) Aigner. She attended and graduated from Hollidaysburg Catholic, Bishop Guilfoyle High School, Villanova University, and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. She resides in Frankstown Township with her husband, Paul. They are the proud parents of three grown children: Morgan, Mary Catherine, and Christian.
